EDGE INSIGHT CS 4 V10

i just recently purchased the CS and was wondering when watching the shift pattern why is there a lock next to the 4 when im on the hwy and when im on a long strecth on the road it has a 3 with a lock. what does this mean?? i have a 02 V10

I"m not sure exactly what the lock means. But I know if it is a 02 it has the 4spd auto trans. On the highway it is probably locked into overdrive. Off the highway its locked into drive.

I could be wrong though, I control my own shifts lol
